Construction Update

-- Where we are!

Well, after two days of heavy rains, our project is approximately two days behind schedule.  Milling of the streets was done Wednesday, on schedule.  Asphalt in the private drives began today, three days late.

For construction work, this is very good!  As my neighbor said, hey they got here the month they promised, even the week they promised, in spite of the rains!

-- Where we’re going!

I wouldn’t dare to guess.  With schedules being juggled as often as twice a day, anything I tell you is sure to be wrong by the time you read this letter!

The private driveways may be finished tomorrow.  It’s now 6PM Thursday and the driveway crew is still rolling asphalt.

If the “roads” crew can get in here Friday, they may start then, probably on the Court.  If the asphalt plant is open providing the right hot mix on Saturday, there is a chance that work will continue on Saturday, but it currently sounds unlikely – we’ll know for sure sometime tomorrow.  Otherwise, the main asphalt work will begin Monday.

--Also,

I haven’t given the post office or parcel services notice to stay out yet, since the schedule has been slipping.  When I see hot asphalt laid on the main roads, I’ll make those calls.  And remember, after the pavers finish, our roads are then closed three more days!

Thanks for your patience and understanding.  (I did warn you there would likely be schedule changes based on weather, lol.)  Feel free to call for a schedule update -- but I might be telling you what I currently see out the window!
