Ed Smith reminds me that I should have mentioned in yesterday’s broadsheet that trash collection will be on Thursdays of the two holiday weeks. We’d expected the trash service to leave notices around the cluster on Monday, but it didn’t happen.
So now you know – trash on Thursday, next week and the following week. They will attempt to send the recycling truck, too – but aren’t making a promise there, if it happens, it happens. I think we can live with that? Thanks to Ed for setting it up with the company well in advance.
I should also point out that we have new playground equipment which went in late yesterday. Solaridge now has a climbing wall in muted earth tones, which RA Design Review remarked was a particularly up-to-date and cool concept. The ground is covered with a thick mat of spongy wood fiber, with a bench to follow in January.
The old equipment was broken down and becoming a real safety hazard. We’d not planned to do the work for a couple more years, but decided we didn’t have much choice. The Board voted to accelerate the schedule, funding the work as planned from reserves. Thanks to Cindy for much effort on this one!
One last thought – we now have a Solarville home sheathed in the Hardi cement siding – you may want to take a look at 11032. It’s in an already-approved cluster color, though the house trim won’t be painted until the weather warms in the spring.
