Hello again Solaridge! Its been a mild winter and spring is here already. Little
snow to shovel! But not many good bicycling or hiking days either two of my
favorite pastimes.
Its time for the annual spring cleanup. This year we have a bonus. Two dozen
small redbud trees and a few shagbark hickories from the Reston Association to plant. The
redbuds are spectacular in the spring, sited just at the edge of the oak woods, bursting
into a riot of color as the grey of winter slips away.
Want to help? Can you see a redbud in the woods near your home? Along the woods near
Twin Branches? Bring a shovel and meet at my place, 11020, next Saturday, March 14, at 2
PM, rain or shine. If its really raining we wont have a mud party,
dont bring the shovel, just come and pick up the plants.
Thanks to Brenda, Evan and Sandy for a great cluster party last fall. The turnout was
great. This is an excellent chance to meet the new neighbors and say hi to old friends.
Did you miss it? Ill bet we will do it again.
Please look at your solar attic from the outside. How does it look? Please
remember home esthetics translate directly to cluster property values. A shabby attic or
two really affects our image! Keep Solaridge attractive!
Since we voted last year to not replace the mailboxes and posts as part of a
cluster-wide project, a few of you have replaced your posts. Looks nice! Please keep to
the standard design here I have the specifications. Or just look at your old unit.
Dont the old newspaper tubes look terrible?
A recommendation on a/c units. Were all sited so closely together here that one
of the big distractions from the deck on a summer evening is the roar of a/c compressor
units. Did you know that whisper quiet units are available at a modest price increase?
Please think of your neighbor and yourself -- when you replace your a/c!
Thanks, and see you March 14 for the tree planting and and April 16 for the annual
meeting!
