Our asphalt work will begin late this week, with marking of
the cuts. Next week the cuts will be made and the old material removed. Then a trench will
be dug in the area of 11026 to 11032, and the drain system installed. Following that, the
base course will be laid, and then the surface course. Last, hot pour crack seal will be
applied to surface cracks which were not serious enough to require patching at this time.
The exact schedule will depend on the weather, including, but not limited to, wandering
hurricanes!
College Park Paving will be able to maintain good access for us throughout the repairs.
There will be major drops in grade when the old material has been removed -- drive very
slowly and with care while the streets are opened! Be prepared to live with lighted
barricade devices at night until the cuts are resurfaced to grade level. When the drainage
trench is dug, the crews will knock on the doors of the affected people between 7 and 8 AM
and warn them to move their cars to a cluster parking setback.
If you want your own driveway resurfaced by the roads crew, be sure to call Tad at
College Park Paving, 703 631-3433. Tad preferred to wait until work began to arrange the
driveways, and says he will return calls to everyone now.
Call me at 620-0159 with any questions!
